“Homebrew” refers to people coding their own games and then releasing them either in free ROM form (for emulators) or on cartridge (typically in recycled Atari cases) for sale. Edtris is reportedly the first homebrew produced after Atari itself stopped making games around 1990, and a good number more — many of which have been made into cartridge form — are now available.
